"University English Course for Pre-service Primary Teachers" is an English as a second language textbook specially addressed to would-be Primary teachers. It was designed following the main principles of English for Specific Purposes, as it is a learner-centered material to teach English as an additional language, which focuses on developing communicative competence in a specific discipline, that is, teaching in Primary Education. Therefore, contents are based on authentic texts, videos, etc. related to education and emphasising the vocabulary which teachers-to-be will need in their future practice. According to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, the English level of this textbook is `independent user' (B1-B2). However, it contains authentic sources without manipulation which independent users may occasionally find slightly demanding.
